چکیده

Antifungal activity of naftifinc (SN 105-843 gel) a napthyle alkyleamine derivative, was measured in vitro against freshly isolated cultures of dermatophytie fungi. Using appropriate concentrations of naftifine, its antifungal activity was compared with the same concentrations of griseofulvin against Trichophyton rubrum, Trichophyton mentagrophytes, Trichophyton violaceum, Trichophyton tonsurans, Microsporum Canis and Epidermophyton floccosum. The results indicated that minimal inhibitory concentration (MIC) for naftifinc was 0.1 Ug/ml against Trichophyton rub-rum, Trichophyton violaceum and Trichophyton tonsurans, whereas for griseofulvin the MIC was 0.5 UG/ml. This showed that naftifinc was more effective in vitro than griseofulvin against these fungi. The MIC of naftifinc and griseofulvin was identical i.e. 0.1 Ug/ml against Trichophyton mentagrophytes, Microsporum canis and Epidermophyton floccosum. (JPMA 31:279, 1981).

In vitro antifungal activity of naftifine hydrochloride against dermatophytes.

The incidence of superficial dermatophytoses is high in developed countries, and there remains a need for effective topical antifungals. In this study, we evaluated the in vitro antifungal activity of naftifine hydrochloride, the active ingredient in naftifine hydrochloride cream and gel 1% and 2%, against dermatophytes. The MICs and minimum fungicidal concentrations (MFCs) of naftifine hydroch...

In vitro antifungal activities of Actinomyces species isolated from soil samples against Trichophyton mentagrophytes

Background and Purpose: Cutaneous infections arise from a homogeneous group of keratinophilic fungi, known as dermatophytes. Since these pathogenic dermatophytes are eukaryotes in nature, use of chemical antifungal agents for treatment may affect the host tissue cells. In this study, we aimed to evaluate the antifungal activity of Actinomyces species against Trichophyton mentagrophytes (abbrevi...

Design of Two Alternative Routes for the Synthesis of Naftifine and Analogues as Potential Antifungal Agents.

Two practical and efficient approaches have been implemented as alternative procedures for the synthesis of naftifine and novel diversely substituted analogues 16 and 20 in good to excellent yields, mediated by Mannich-type reactions as the key step of the processes. In these approaches, the γ-aminoalcohols 15 and 19 were obtained as the key intermediates and their subsequent dehydration cataly...
